Gmelina hystrix Parrots Beak, Snapdragon Tree or Badhara 

A fantastic rounded pot specimen or small shrub when pruned lightly. Also making fantastic bonsai specimens. Or if left to grow will be small tree to approx 3m in Sydney if left unpruned. Quite an extraordinary plant with exotic flowers. Chains of overlapping bracts are produced in spring and summer. With bright yellow flowers which pop out of the chains resembling a parrots beak or snapdragon. 
It loves full sun or part shade. And grows well in clay soils. In lighter soils be sure to add some compost. Native to South east Asia, India and the Philippines.
