Hydrangea glabrifolia Phillipino Hydrangea - growing - ready spring 2024
Hydrangea glabrifolia Phillipino Hydrangea is an unusual and very rare hydrangea in Australia. Native to the Philippines it is found on the top of Mount Pulog, Phillipines in an area of amazing terrain growing under stunted trees and shrubs. It grows a maximum 1m high by 1 to 1.2m wide. It prefers a sheltered spot and will grow well in a range of climates from temperate through to sub tropical. Beautiful small delicate white lacecap flowers smother the plant in spring and summer. Contrasting vividly with its dark green thick fleshy leaves that are reminiscent of camellia leaves.
Rarely offered for sale. And scant information available on this species. This is a must have for anyone interested in rare or unusual plants. And a must for any hydrangea collector.
