This lush tropical thrives in our Sydney climate! And what an amazing plant! It provides so many months of flowers. The colourful red torch-like bracts and the lush big leaves are a showstopper in the garden. Flowering starts in summer around January and continues all through autumn and winter. Providing a wonderful winter pop of colour as it finally finishes. It provides so much colour for such a long time.

It is a vigorous and larger grower. It can grow up to 3 metres making it great for privacy, hedging and screening. But it’s herbaceous allows it to be pruned as hard as you like to keep its size down!
It makes the most wonderful hedge. In full sun, part sun or shade! Its leaves reflect its growing environment. Yellow green in full sun, lime green in part sun, and deep dark green in shade.
