This fantastic native Hardenbergia was discovered by the team Yarralumla Nursery in Canberra. It was found among a batch of 1500 seedlings that they were growing out from wild collected seed (from along the Murrumbidgee River) in 2018. And just one little plant popped up with beautiful deep burgundy foliage. And hence Hardenbergia Out of the Dark was born. These beautiful and unique Hardenbergia love and thrive in dappled shade or part shade. They will tolerate full sun too, but their colour may not be as intense. They make a fantastic ground cover or a small climber. And their bright purple cheerful flowers contrast beautifully with their dark foliage. A new release and a must have for any native plant enthusiast!
