Illicium anisatum, the Japanese Star Anise is a large evergreen shrub with creamy white spider flowers and shiny foliage. Great amongst Rhododendrons and Mollis Azaleas. Requiring moist soil and shade from the afternoon sun. The perfumed spidery greenish-white flowers have an almost ethereal quality. Fragrant dark green leaves complete the picture. Makes great pot or tub specimen or grow under taller trees.
