Platycerium bifurcatum Elkhorn Fern - Growing - Ready September 2025
These impressive ferns are easy to grow on trees, walls, patios and in hanging baskets. They have flat round leaves that hug branches, and long dramatic antler-like leaves that hang down and grow upwards giving their common name Elkhorn. They are native to NSW and Queensland. They make a fantastic feature plant for the garden and outdoor spaces. You can tie them into tree trunks and branches. Or attach one to the wall. They will also grow in a pot as a feature plant. Or look fantastic in a hanging basket.
They prefer shade, dappled sun or part sun. They love humidity, so give them a regular hose over. And need extra watering in dryer months. And protect frosts.
We have beautiful plants available in 125mm pots and also on backing boards.
