This stunning protea is a soft white green when opening, changing to a white protea as it matures. A fantastic cut or dried flower. And a wonderful bird attracting plant. Flowering for months through Spring and into Summer. King White provides masses of large flowers about the size of a large dinner plate on a shrub reaching 1.5x1.5m. Lush green foliage offsets the flowers beautifully. A stunning specimen plant in the garden. Or wonderful pot plant if pruned to shape. It benefits from a hard prune after flowering. Light to moderate frost tolerance. And coastal tolerant. Water well to establish, but once established King Protea have a low water requirement. They love a full sun position in well drained soils.

Proteas are sensitive to Phosphorous in fertiliser. For best results we recommend using Garden Delight Rock Minerals at planting and in place of a fertiliser.
